Privacy Policy
Last updated September 22, 2026
The short version
- We keep what you put into Wrap Logger so the app can work for you, and nothing more.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell or rent your information.
- There’s no AI inside Wrap Logger reading your records. The AI features hand text to an AI service you choose, and only when you paste it there.
- You can download your records and delete your data at any time.
1. Who we are
Wrap Logger (wraplogger.com) is a web app for film and TV freelancers to log work days, overtime and expenses, and to make quotes and invoices. It is made and run by Ethan Yuheng Xie, an independent developer in Los Angeles, California. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean him, and “you” means anyone who uses Wrap Logger.
2. What we collect
Your account
- Email address, used to sign in and to send account emails.
- Password, if you set one. It is stored only as a one-way hash by our sign-in provider. We never see it.
- Sign in with Apple or Google, if you use it: the name and email address that Apple or Google share with us, and an identifier for that account. With Apple’s “Hide My Email” we receive a private relay address instead of your real one.
- Passkeys, if you add one: the passkey’s public key, a name for it, and when it was added and last used. The private key never leaves your device or password manager.
What you put in
- Projects, work days, call and wrap times, rates, meal and overtime details, expenses, payments, adjustments, crew lines, quotes, invoices, and your notes.
- Receipts, photos and documents you attach, such as receipts and Paperwork files (NDAs, contracts, deal memos).
- Your invoice details, such as your name, company, address, phone and email, and client contacts you save. When you add someone else’s details, such as a client’s contact, please make sure you’re allowed to share them.
- Payment details you choose to print on invoices, such as Zelle, Venmo or PayPal. Bank account details are encrypted in your browser with a passphrase only you know before they’re saved, so we store only unreadable data and can’t read them.
Feedback you send
If you use Send feedback in the app, we get your message, the email address you give for a reply (optional), the app version, and a screenshot if you attach one.
Notifications, if you turn them on
For each device: a push subscription (an address your browser’s push service gives us to deliver notifications), the device’s time zone, your reminder choices, and a short description of the browser (its “user agent”) so you can tell devices apart.
Technical information
Like any website, our hosting and database providers automatically log technical details such as IP address, browser type and the time of requests. These logs are used for security and to keep the service running.
We don’t use advertising or analytics tools, and we don’t track you across other websites.
3. How we use it
- To run Wrap Logger for you: store and sync your records between your devices, work out pay and totals, and build your PDFs and spreadsheets. Invoices and quotes are generated in your browser, and you send them yourself.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To send account emails: confirmations, password resets and email-change links.
- To send the reminders you turn on, such as meal, wrap and payment-overdue reminders.
- To fix problems, prevent abuse, and answer you when you contact us.
We don’t sell your information, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
4. AI features
Wrap Logger has no AI built in. Features such as Batch / AI add and Quote AI give you a prompt or a spreadsheet file to paste into an AI service of your choice, and you paste its reply back into Wrap Logger to review before anything is saved. Whatever you share with that service is covered by its privacy policy, not this one.
Paperwork files have a “Let AI read this” switch. It is off for every file unless you turn it on. Nothing reads your files today. If we add a feature that can use them, it will only ever use files you’ve switched on, and we’ll update this policy first.
Reading text from a photo or a PDF, such as the times on a call sheet or the details on a receipt, happens entirely in your browser. The file isn’t sent to us for that. It’s only saved if you attach it to a record.
5. Services we rely on
These companies process data on our behalf to provide the service. Each handles it under its own privacy and security terms.
| Provider | What for | What they handle |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in, file storage, reminders | Your account and everything you save in the app |
| Netlify | Hosting the website | Technical request logs |
| Resend | Sending account emails, and receiving mail sent to our @wraplogger.com addresses | Your email address and the email’s content |
| Apple, Google | Sign in with Apple / Google, only if you use it | The sign-in itself, under their own privacy policies |
| Apple, Google, Mozilla push services | Delivering notifications, only if you turn them on | The reminder text, such as a project name or the amount due |
| jsDelivr, Google Fonts, Unsplash | Delivering open-source code libraries, fonts and welcome-page images | Your browser downloads these files directly, so the provider sees your IP address and browser type, as with any website |
6. When information is shared
Only in these cases:
- With the providers listed above, so the service works.
- When you choose to share it, for example by sending an invoice PDF or pasting text into an AI service.
- If the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of users or others.
- If Wrap Logger is ever transferred to someone else, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
7. Stored on your device
Wrap Logger keeps a few things in your browser’s storage: your sign-in session, so you stay signed in, and preferences such as theme, time format and whether the inspector is showing. A trial day you log before creating an account also stays in your browser until you sign up. These aren’t used to track you. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.
8. How long we keep it
- Your records stay as long as your account exists, or until you delete them.
- Settings ▸ Account & display ▸ Delete my account & data immediately deletes your projects, records, receipts and files, your invoice and quote history, your clients, your notification devices, and your settings. The sign-in record itself (your email address) stays until you ask us to remove it. Email hello@wraplogger.com and we’ll do it.
- Our providers’ routine backups may hold copies for a short time before they’re overwritten.
- A device’s notification subscription is deleted when you turn notifications off on that device, or when the device stops accepting them.
9. Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Every account’s data is locked to that account at the database level, so one user can’t read another’s. Passwords are hashed, bank details are encrypted in your browser, and files are stored privately and opened through short-lived links. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password or a passkey and keep your devices locked.
10. Your choices and rights
- See and download your records in the app. Settings ▸ Terms & privacy ▸ Download all my data saves everything in one ZIP file: your records as spreadsheets and as JSON, plus your receipt photos and paperwork files. You can also ask us for a copy.
- Correct anything by editing it in the app.
- Delete your data from Settings, and ask us to remove your sign-in record.
- Turn off notifications, disconnect Apple or Google, or remove passkeys at any time.
California residents. You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, and to ask us to delete or correct it, without being treated differently for asking. We don’t sell or share personal information for advertising.
If you’re in the EU, EEA or UK. We process your information to provide the service you signed up for, and for our legitimate interest in keeping it secure. You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your information, or object to its use. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
To make any request, email hello@wraplogger.com from your account’s email address. We’ll reply within 30 days.
11. Children
Wrap Logger is made for working professionals and isn’t intended for anyone under 16. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
12. Where data is processed
We’re based in the United States. Your information is stored and processed in the United States and in other countries where our providers operate.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know in the app before it takes effect.
